The 2026 Bordeaux Marathon: the practical facts
Here is what the organisers have officially published, as recorded on their website on 8 September 2026. We update this section as announcements come in, and we say plainly what is still unknown rather than letting you book on an assumption.

The start times are announced as provisional
The organisers publish three start times — 8 am for the marathon, 10 am for the half, 1 pm for the 10 km — and label them “provisional” themselves. They give you the right window; they are not your official call time.
The start pens have not yet been set for 2026. The previous edition gives the order of the waves: the half started from the Jardin Public, cours de Verdun, in four waves from 10:00 to 10:12, and the 10 km in four waves from 12:30 to 12:42. The organisers advise allowing 30 minutes to get into your pen, and being on site at least one hour before the start.
What this means for your transfer: we never block a slot on an assumed time. We set your pick-up time as soon as your official start information is known, and we tell you if it changes.
When to plan the pick-up
The organisers publish a cut-off time per race: 5 hr 30 for the marathon, 3 hr for the half, 1 hr 30 for the 10 km. Past that, the race closes behind the runner. Applied to the provisional start times, those cut-offs put the end of the race at around 1:30 pm for the marathon, 1 pm for the half and 2:30 pm for the 10 km — that is arithmetic, not an official announcement, and it will move if the start times move.
It is the figure that matters most to a companion: between the finish line, the refreshments and collecting a bag from the left-luggage area, allow a good half hour more before your runner is genuinely available.
Bib collection: Hangar 14, on 6 and 7 November
The pre-race village is held at Hangar 14, 115 quai des Chartrons in Bordeaux. Bibs are collected there on Friday 6 November from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday 7 November from 9 am to 7 pm. The organisers are categorical: no bib is handed out on race day.
You need photo ID and an up-to-date entry file — someone else may collect the bib with their own ID plus the runner’s. No paper document is accepted at collection: everything must be uploaded to the runner’s account beforehand.
For runners travelling in, that adds a return trip to quai des Chartrons the day before the race. We handle it like any other journey, with waiting time on site if you want it.
Left luggage: a 40 × 35 × 20 cm bag at most
Bag drop is free, at the start village, but the size is strictly capped at 40 × 35 × 20 cm — the equivalent of a small rucksack. Suitcases and large bags are turned away. The left-luggage area opens 1 hr 30 before the race and closes 15 minutes before the start; the organisers advise dropping your bag 45 minutes before to avoid the queue.
In practice, if you arrive with a suitcase, it will not go into left luggage. It stays in the vehicle, and you get it back at the next pick-up.
Traffic and parking: what is published, and what is not
The “Parking and traffic” page is listed in the official site’s menu, but it was still not online on 8 September 2026: the address returns an error. The map of closed streets and the closure times are therefore unknown, and we would rather tell you so than copy across the ones from another edition.
Two points have been announced. Car parks near the course close one hour before the race and reopen once the event ends, or earlier if the route is cleared. And for the tram, the organisers point runners to TBM Bordeaux Métropole, which publishes line diversions as the event approaches.

The half marathon and the 10 km finish at place de la Bourse. The pick-up point is therefore set right next to it, outside the closed perimeter — we fix it precisely as soon as the official traffic plan is published, and we send you an annotated map by WhatsApp the day before so that you have no stress.
Communicate your expected time

How far in advance should I book?
For the marathon weekend, 4 to 6 weeks minimum. The race-morning slots (6:30 am – 8 am) are the tightest.
